Are you against cuts to the VA of over 80,000 people, closure of dept of Education that is laying off teachers, SSA delays & many farmers may lose their farms? Plus, there is the firing of park ranger jobs that have a huge ROI for our economy. Understand in 2023, national parks in the U.S. contributed a record $55.6 billion to the economy. This impressive figure came from 325.5 million visitors who spent $26.4 billion in communities near the parks. This spending supported 415,400 jobs , with MANY of these being NON-federal positions in local economies ie hotels, restaurant jobs.[www.doi.gov www.nps.gov]

So we are reducing park rangers that watch over and protect the land helping to bring in billions of dollars and create over 400,000 local jobs. Now congress is introducing legislation to bypass public (no rangers to warn the public) about mining/cut lumber from public grounds. Ultra rich getting richer from resources without sharing profit of public land to the public, then leaving the ground unusable for tourism. This plan only seems to benefit the rich & destroy local economies. Please show me where I am wrong.

Cutting Medicaid that doctors offices, nursing homes and hospitals need for funding will lead to certain hospitals and nursing homes closing. How are you going to take care of your parents when the long-term care facilities close? Hospital closings could leave hospital deserts. Where will the rich go when they have a heart attack or car wreck in these areas? Well in traveling further out you could die. The cuts in Medicaid will also lead to higher unemployment.

Tariffs from Canada, Mexico, Europe, etc will affect not just consumer goods but energy prices. Higher costs, more unemployment & people losing their homes. Yes, the rich will make out again. They’ll buy up farmland and houses on the cheap but barring the 1% how will this affect you? Many unkept properties will DE-value your property & INCREASE property taxes for those left.

Want to STOP this? Congress is debating a continuing resolution (CR) to avoid a shutdown. It needs bipartisan support in the Senate. Ask your representatives to "oppose closure of the debate" on this funding bill.

How could cut spending without this chaos you could mention:

1. Move from FOR profit healthcare insurance to NON-profit health ins. Employees could move from one company to the other & people would get better care.
2. Just like we limit real estate agents to 6% max profit we could do this with Pharmacy Benefit Managers to reduce all drug prices.
3. Get rid of privatization of prisons which makes rich people incentivized to get more people in the prison.
4. Get an audit of the DOD & start removing waste.
